By accessing thewyrdpodcast.com, purchasing any product or service, or subscribing to any paid tier offered by Skald Corp or Rachel Hansen (collectively "Skald," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

The Working is instruction and guidance. We build it together: the client drives, and the provider guides. Skald teaches, directs, and reviews the work. Skald does not build the application on the client's behalf. The client is expected to do the hands-on work, with Skald's direction and support throughout.
Part of what is delivered is the client's own capability to maintain and extend the application after the engagement ends — not the application alone.
An engagement is complete when the application is deployed, live on the client's own domain, and functioning as specified in the agreed written scope.
The engagement does not promise, and completion is not conditioned on:
The Working builds web applications and progressive web apps (PWAs). Typical projects in scope include content and community apps, booking and scheduling tools, directories, trackers, calculators, membership sites, and storefronts.
The following are out of scope and will not be accepted:
Scope is agreed in writing before the engagement begins, and applications are screened against these boundaries before any payment is taken.
If, after the engagement begins, the project is found to require work listed in Section 3.3 or otherwise outside the agreed written scope, Skald will notify the client in writing. The client and Skald may agree in writing to narrow the project to something the program can deliver. If no such agreement is reached, the engagement may be ended by either party, and refunds are governed by the Refund Policy and the Client Services Agreement.
Because the client performs the hands-on work, the engagement depends on the client's participation. The client is responsible for attending scheduled sessions, doing the agreed work between them, and providing the accounts, content, and decisions the build requires. Terms covering client time commitment and what happens if the client disengages mid-build are set out in the Client Services Agreement.
The Course is not yet available for purchase. Joining the waitlist places you on a notification list only. It is not a purchase, does not reserve a place, and creates no obligation on either side. Purchase terms, including refund terms, will be published before The Course opens for sale.
Payments for memberships, sessions, and digital products are processed via Stripe or Patreon. By completing a purchase, you authorize the applicable platform to charge your payment method. Prices are listed in USD.
The Working is not purchased through the website. It is application-only: applications are reviewed personally, and no payment is taken at the point of application. If a seat is offered, the engagement fee of $12,000 is invoiced in two equal payments — $6,000 on acceptance of the Client Services Agreement and before the engagement begins, and $6,000 on completion as defined in Section 3 of that agreement.
Skald reserves the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers. A price in effect at the time of purchase governs that purchase.
Refund terms vary by product. See our Refund Policy for full details. In general: digital products and completed sessions are non-refundable, subscription tiers may be cancelled at any time but are not refunded for the current billing period, and The Working is governed by the refund terms in the Client Services Agreement.
By accessing any Skald community space or service, you agree to:
Violations may result in immediate termination of access without refund.

Work you build is yours. An application a client builds during The Working — its code, content, data, and branding — belongs to the client. This does not transfer ownership of Skald's own teaching materials, templates, frameworks, or methods, which remain Skald's property and are licensed to the client for their own use, not for resale or redistribution.
